Ms. Franke is the editor of Circulation and the administrator for the Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography. She is a native of Norfolk and lived across the street from Old Dominion for most of her upbringing. She recieved her B.A from the University of Maryland and her M.A. from Yale University, both in anthropology. Her primary area of interest was utilizing cultural and historical data to inform genomic modeling. During this time, she worked on the New York African Burial Ground Project, and the University of Maryland’s Genomic Models Research Group. She is on the board of a non-profit organization which publishes a literary magazine, the Blue Collar Review, and chapbooks of poetry.
