I have a background in meteorology and experience with mesoscale meteorology models. I am now obtaining a Ph.D. in oceanography so that I can expand my training to dynamical processes in the ocean, which will allow me to undertake studies of coupled ocean-atmosphere processes. The focus of my studies is on circulation processes of the Antarctica continental shelf region, which are strongly influenced by atmospheric exchanges. My training in meteorology will allow inclusion of atmospheric processes as an integral component of modeling the circulation of this region. A potential result will be better understanding of the effect of atmospheric structure near the ocean-air interface in ocean-atmosphere exchanges in southern polar latitudes.

My Ph.D advisor is Dr. John Klinck.
