• Contact German physical oceanographer about U.S. participation on German SO GLOBEC cruise (Beardsley)
• contact Dr. Lee about krill genetic work (Hofmann)
• contact Dr. Shin about participation in krill part of U.S. SO GLOBEC program (Hofmann)
• contact D. Thiele about IWC participation (Costa)
• Send example chief scientist manual to each SSC member (Groman, Wiebe)
• Each SSC member review and make suggestions of needed revisions to chief scientist manual for SO GLOBEC (all SSC members)
• Send message to all SI GLOBEC science investigators about berthing allocations, project summaries, next SI meeting dates (Hofmann, Note this was done 19 September)
• Provide contact information for person handling voucher specimens at the Smithsonian (Penhale)
• Check on AWS (Beardsley)
• Check status of protected areas in the Marguerite Bay region (Hofmann, Note this was done 25 September 2000)
• Check on requirements for small boat operations (Doyle)
• Prepare SIP for meteorological measurements (Beardsley)
• Prepare SIP for program-wide needs (Hofmann and Beardsley)
• Prepare/check on need for SIP for nets (Torres)
• Provide bathymetry data to program investigators (Beardsley)
• Check on availability of GMT software and ETOPO2 bathymetry on Gould and Palmer (Doyle)
• Check on previous seabeam surveys of Marguerite Bay (Doyle, Note this was done 19 Sept 2000 - data do not exist)
• Draft article for U.S. GLOBEC newsletter (Hofmann, Note -draft article sent to SSC 22 September 2000)
• Contact M. Noble about SO GLOBEC article for EOS (Hofmann)
