The light on the ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) shines from below the sea ice through holes dug by scientists collecting sea-ice samples. The ROV is being used to survey zooplankton on the under surface of the ice and is often deployed during ice-stations (Photo by Jenny Boc).
