Stisn Alesandrini works to start the Zodiac engine on the main deck of the N.B. Palmer. The engines need constant attention in order to function in the extreme conditions of the Antarctic Winter. The Zodiacs are used as platforms for divers and to enable seabird researchers to capture penguins (Photo by Kerri Scolardi).
