How to request a new account

To request that an account be created for a new user or a special project, use the mkacct command. The following is an example of mkacct command:

Enter person's FIRST name:       John
Enter person's LAST name:        Doe
Enter SSN or driver's
  license in form of 123456789:  123456789
Enter account group 
  (EX: grad,faculty,guest):      grad
Enter home dir (EX: general, image, lter):     impire       
Enter research sponsor
  or student advisor:            John Klinck
Enter addition groups
  (EX: laser, lter, ...):        impire
Enter addition aliases
  (EX: image, faculty, ...):     grad
Enter additional Comment:        put in klick sig
Patience...while your request is being submitted.
You will be notified by mail when your request is completed.
