SEAPAK

What is SEAPAK?

SEAPAK is an oceanographic analysis package which will eventually incorporate over 250 programs for analysis of field and satellite oceanographic and meteorlogical data.

SEAPAK is a follow-on project to the original VAX version of SEAPAK started here at Goddard in the early 1980's with the Laboratory for Hydrospheric Processes. The original VAX version is still supported at the GSFC Oceans Computer Facility. VAX SEAPAK supports a wide variety of data including CZCS, AVHRR, meteorlogical and hydrographic data. There is also a PC-SEAPAK which is now in version 4 and has been distributed to over 40 sites. PC-SEAPAK contains over 100 programs and is primarily used for CZCS and AVHRR data analysis. SEAPAK will incorporate the functionality of both the VAX and PC versions of SEAPAK and will add many new features for analysis in support of the SeaWiFS project.
