What are X,Y,Z Modem?

X,Y,Z Modem are a suite protocol/programs for transferring files between the Unix network and a remote machine via modems. Z-Modem is the recommended protocol. It is faster and more reliable the either X or Y Modem.

How to Use

On the Suns type:

sz filenames - To send a file(s) via z-modem protocol to your machine.
sx filename - To send a file via x-modem protocol to your machine.
sb filenames - To send a file(s) via y-modem protocol to your machine.

rz - To receive a file(s) via z-modem protocol from your machine.
rx - To receive a file via x-modem protocol from your machine.
rb - To receive a file(s) via y-modem protocol from your machine.

man sz for sending/transmitting/uploading information.
man rz for receiving/downloading information.
