A periodic, informal meeting of observational oceanographers from around the Chesapeake Bay area to discuss the technical aspects of ocean observing.

First meeting:
January 11, 2005

The focus will be on real-time observing. Topics of discussion will include:

Sensors and calibration
Platforms
Communications
Power
Data management
The meeting is focused on, but by no means limited to, observing that will be part of the CBOS (Chesapeake Bay Observing System).
The meeting will be followed at 3:30 by a short meeting of the IT committee for CBOS-CEID, the Collaborative Extension and Integration Demonstration, a NOAA-funded project which involves HPL, VIMS, and ODU. Anybody who is interested is welcome to attend this meeting.
Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided courtesy of CCPO.
