ODU SO GLOBEC: TIME ROUTINES
GMT (UCT) Time Conversions
At present, no software is set up to make these conversions. Time changes
are defined below.
- Atlantic Standard Time is the time zone for Chile, including Punta
Arenas. It is obtained from UTC by subtracting 4 hours. (AST=UTC-4).
- Eastern Standard Time is obtained from UTC by subtracting 5 hours (EST=UTC-5).
- Eastern Daylight Time is obtained from UTC by subtracting 4 hours
(EDT=UTC-4). Daylight time effectively shifts the clocks one time zone to
the east.
- Argentina Standard Time is one time zone east of Chile and local time
is obtained from UTC by subtracting 3 hours. (ArST=UTC-3).
