The 2nd IWMO meeting will be held at Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk,
Virginia. Norfolk is located on the Chesapeake Bay near the Atlantic coast and is home to the world’s largest naval base, an international seaport and various centers for maritime and marine sciences.

The workshop seeks presentations on all aspects of ocean modeling, analysis and prediction, with emphasis on interdisciplinary coastal-regional studies as well as new model developments (note: the IWMO evolved from the POM users group meetings, but is open to the ocean modeling community at large).

COST: Registration fee of about $100-$200 may be requested to cover expenses.

Outstanding Young Scientist Award: First authors presenters who are graduate students or postdocs not more than 2 years past their graduation are eligible to participate in this competition, and will be judged by their research quality and presentation.

Support and facilities are provided by the Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography (CCPO), Department of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (OEAS) and Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC)

Organizers: Tal Ezer (ODU), Lian Xie (NCSU) and Huijie Xue (UMaine)
